I’ve used this study a few times after radical prostatectomy. Many of the lower grade patients are never imaged pre-op, but then if a few months later someone else scans them for pain and finds mild hydronephrosis. This study recently was completely normal, and this patient’s history of stones led me to conclude he had mild chronic hydro. Until the study was performed, of course, the concern is some sort of obstruction from the RP.
really it is very useful test even when we follow the children with UPJO, along with AP diameter.
