I just wanted to thank the Editorial team for this month’s front cover! I am originally from Iran so it was a delight to see a photo of Azadi tower in Tehran on the front cover. Iran often get a bad press in the Western media but in fact the people are very friendly towards Westerners and the urologists are very skilled and knowledgeable so its nice that you showed a positive aspect of the country that would surprise many people.
Thanks Hugh. Quality knows no boundaries. Often high quality randomised trials like our article of the month from Iran, will feature in the BJUI, given its global footprint. You may remember the follow up to a WHO Lancet trial of circumcision in a previous issue of the BJUI which came from an excellent group in Uganda. We featured the Nile on that occasion. I will request my team to post that cover here again with an explanation and a link to that paper.
The cover, from the January 2014 issue, shows the monument near Jinja, Uganda, marking where the Nile rises from Lake Victoria, the major source of the White Nile.
The Article of the Month was Male circumcision wound healing in human immunodeficiency virus (HIV)-negative and HIV-positive men in Rakai, Uganda
