August 2017 – About the Cover

The authors of this issue’s Article of the Month are primarily based in Nara, Japan. The cover shows the Tōdai-ji Temple in Nara, houses the world’s largest bronze statue of the Buddha, and one of the many sika deer that roam through the city.
